Yet, another Drummer....

Seasoned drummer (read: late 40's, if that is important to you) looking to join or form a band. Emphasis preferred on original material and perhaps a few select covers. I have a career and life so I'm not looking to tour or play live endlessly. Ideally, each member would put in the work on their own time and the band would meet 1 or 2 times a week to write and rehearse as a band. Near term goals could be to play some live shows to get good and tight as a band, then do some recording. If I had to describe the sound/style that I'm interested in, it'd be something along the lines of: Shinedown, The Cult, Velvet Revolver, Alter Bridge, Daughtry, Train, Vertical Horizon, Creed, Fuel, Godsmack, KXM, aPerfectCircle, etc.... Essentially, solid rock with a super strong anchor in guitar riffage and great melodies, harmonies, and the occasional odd-time signature. I'm more of a metalhead myself, but don't want to play it any more. I'm also not hung up on what you listen to, or any of your other personal background for that matter. Just hoping to find a decent group of people that I can write, jam, play live, and record with...... oh yeah: and hang out with and relate to. Personality, dedication, commitment, and creativity over technical talent. In other words: if you can shred, but are a jacka$$, hard pass.
