Mummers, Get Over It . .

Description

Hell, I never understood the need for these guys to strut their stuff and never once went to a Mummer's Parade. Frankly, I think they look kind of ridiculous, though I must admit, every now and then, if I should catch a glimpse of them on the television, I am impressed by the amount of time and effort they put into those outfits. As far as musicians go, I once worked in the largest music store in Philadelphia and a lot of the guys that did these parades would buy equipment from me. I have to say I did not notice any kind of racist thread running through them. They all seemed like nice enough guys. Maybe not the greatest musicians you're going to meet, but at least they were playing something. That brings me to my next point, my biggest point. This is the musician's community portion of craigslist. What this is NOT is a soapbox for somebody to climb on and spout off their feelings about the Mummers. I'm pretty sure you'll find some place on Craigslist where that would be right at home. However, this is really not the place for your rant. Let this be a place for musicians. You must have other places that you can go and stand on your soapbox. Have you worn all those other spots out? Now, back to musicians and things that had to do with music...
