This class is a certification class for the Metal Shop MIG Welder at Make Salt Lake. In order to use the MIG welder provided in Make Salt Lake's Metal Shop, all members must take and pass this class. This class REQUIRES previous Welding experience. If you do not have previous experience, please take our Lvl 1 certification and practice with the flux core welder. This is an in-person class, so masks will be required for all attendees. All attendees must also take and pass the Metal Shop CERTIFICATION Lvl 1 class to use the MIG. The focus of this class will be on how to safely set up, use, store and care for the MIG welders and will be geared towards people who already have knowledge of welding safety and use. The certification will provide information on proper safety but will include minimal instruction. It will not train you in how to weld.
