BOXING FOR A CAUSE IS A CHARITY EVENT THAT IS GEARED TOWARD THE RAISING AWARNESS ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AND SUICIDE PREVENTION. Boxing for a Cause Charity Event is apart of the City of Riviera Beach and the Youth Recreation Associations Olympics. This event will be one of may that is geared towards educating our community and our young people on the important of "Exercising your Mental Health." One way to do this is through boxing in conjunction with counselling we can mentor for troubled young people who may be at risk of exclusion from school, substance abuse or involvement in criminality and antisocial behavior, often passed down through the generations. We want to help educate them on different ways to manage stress, develop positive methods for reliving stress, help with discipline and mental focus . We hope to partner with the local boxing gyms by taking referrals from schools, pupil referral units, police and child and adolescent mental health services to help built up a track record of helping hard-to-reach young people who often do not respond to traditional talking therapies.
