Description
YWCA Spirit of American Women highlights the empowerment and accomplishments of women, girls, and families served through YWCA programs. On Thursday, November 18 from 5:30-7:30 pm, the YWCA of Syracuse and Onondaga County, Inc. will hold our 22nd Annual Spirit of American Women fundraiser at the Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse. As part of the celebration, this year we are launching our first-ever Giving Day to encourage individuals across the region to join our sponsors in supporting our mission. Spirit of American Women highlights the empowerment and accomplishments of women, girls, and families served through YWCA programs. It is also a fundraiser that celebrates the power of individual philanthropy. Guests will enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres, live speakers, and networking with peers. This year’s Mistress of Ceremonies will be Iris St. Meran of WSYR-TV NewsChannel 9. Guests also will hear from women who have become empowered to change their lives with support from the YWCA and will discover how their gifts make a tangible difference in the lives of women and girls in our community. We soon will be announcing a dynamic keynote speaker who will embody the ideals of the YWCA. Proceeds from the event support key YWCA programs and services such as healthy youth and teen programming, scholarships for children to attend YWCA summer camps, science equipment for girls in our STEM workshops, computer and job skills training, and our Women’s Residence Program, which helps victims of domestic violence and homelessness in Syracuse get back on their feet and once again actively contribute to society. With your event sponsorship, the YWCA will be able to bolster our efforts to support women; increase equity and racial justice; help girls grow up to be strong, smart, and bold; and foster values in our youth that will promote healthy relationships and overall well-being throughout our neighborhoods and communities. You will also help sustain a historic organization making a crucial difference in Syracuse and Onondaga County. Please Note: The YWCA and Drumlins will be following CDC guidelines in regards to masks.
