COVID Testing Site At RL Taylor Complex Will Be Closed Saturday

SARASOTA, FL — The walk-up COVID-19 testing site at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex will be closed Saturday to accommodate the fifth annual Big Mama's Collard Greens Festival. COVID-19 testing will resume at the site, which is located at 1845 34th Street in Sarasota, Monday as scheduled, the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County said in a news release. The testing site, which offers PCR and rapid testing, is typically open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those who need to be tested during this time can visit one of the other public testing sites located in Sarasota County that will be operating normally, the DOH said. Additionally, people can receive COVID testing at many local retail pharmacies. Testing is available at these other county sites: Sarasota Kennel Club (5400 Old Bradenton Road, Sarasota): This drive-thru site is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers rapid and PCR COVID-19 testing. This site is operated by Nomi Health.Dallas White Park (5900 Greenwood Ave., North Port): This walk-up site is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and offers PCR and rapid COVID-19 testing. This site is operated by Lab Services.Ed Smith Stadium parking lot (2700 12th Street, Sarasota): This drive-thru site is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers PCR testing only. This site is operated by Real Diagnostics and CDR Maguire. All four sites will test anyone regardless of symptoms. Testing is free, but individuals being tested will be asked to provide health insurance information, the DOH said. Those tested will receive their results in up to 48 hours.
