Description
A tribute to the engagement of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, featuring family friendly outside historical fun for all ages! Join the Friends of Willow Hall and the gallant men of the Royal Sussex Society's 35th Regiment of Foot as we pay tribute to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert! This reƫnactment will feature an encampment, drills, displays, and activities for all ages, all set on Willow Hall's bucolic Morristown Estate! On October 15, 1839, Queen Victoria proposed to Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, her true love. Their union would define 19th Century society. When Albert died in 1861, she spent the rest of her life in mourning. The redcoats of the 35th Royal Sussex Regiment will set up an encampment and fire a celebratory volley for the Queen. Ladies and gentlemen can expect lawn games and 1830s merriment in this unique living history event to commemorate one of history's most famous marriages.
