Lopez is well versed in education policies and statewide education achievement to represent Randolph families at the School Committee and as a member of DESE Parent and Community Education and Involvement Advisory Council, all point to a career spent leading complex organizations facing challenges, and said her experience there will serve her well as she focuses on the challenges facing Randolph Public Schools. Yahaira Lopez's Campaign Announcement: I am excited to announce that I am running for a seat on the School Committee for Randolph Public Schools for the November 2021 election. My background in advocacy and proven commitment to Randolph students is why I am the right candidate to represent our students’ interests in the School Committee. I will not only lead with passion, dignity, and transparency, but will utilize my experience in communication, finance, education, and social services to move this important work forward. My model has been and will always be to put our students’ needs first. I have demonstrated my unwavering commitment to the community as a proud parent, a Randolph resident, and as a certified parent consultant. Most notably, families may recognize me as the “mom advocate” and founder of Autism Sprinter, a non-profit that serves children and their families with autism. My work through the organization has helped countless Randolph families advocate for their children in the realm of special education and it’s through this work that I have built strong relationships with many stakeholders in the community. As the founder of a non-profit, I know how to work in collaboration with various members of the community making sure that the people in power hear their voices. As a former employee of the Boston Public Schools, I know how to navigate complicated administrations and put children first. I have experience in managing a tight budget and have partnered with other non-profits in the past. I have worked with the Turner Free Library, RICC, Randolph Foundation for Education and the Randolph Youth Council, and will continue those partnerships to provide equitable access to valuable resources for all Randolph students. Randolph families deserve someone who is well versed in education policies and statewide education achievement to represent students at the School Committee and as a member of DESE Parent and Community Education and Involvement Advisory Council, I possess that knowledge. I will listen to parents and to all members of our community. My plan is to establish bimonthly listening sessions to hear what people have to say about issues facing our students. I’ll push for a participatory budget process, where parents, students, residents and businesses have input into the allocation process and I will push for transparency, so that every community member knows how and when the budget is developed. I have and continue the zealously advocacy for students across the State and as a parent of two boys, I’m most dedicated to focusing that advocacy here in our district. I am devoted to using both my parental and professional expertise, skills, and experience to benefit all the students and families of Randolph. Randolph, it's time to elect a Momvocate to our School Committee! For more information, visit www.yahairalopez.com .
