Here are the top stories in Salt Lake City today: Fourteen Utahns have filed a civil rights lawsuit against Salt Lake City, alleging unlawful arrests and unreasonable use of force last year during local protests over the murder of George Floyd. The complaint states several plaintiffs were injured by police without provocation, including two who were concussed and one whose vision was damaged. According to the complaint filed Friday, police shot one plaintiff in the face with a rubber bullet from a short distance of about 3 feet. (Salt Lake Tribune) A homeless man has been charged with multiple felonies after he sexually assaulted a woman walking home from a bar on June 5. According to a probable cause statement, Chad Connelley, 49, asked for the time and the woman didn't give it to him. He then grabbed the woman, threw her to the ground, and eventually brandished a knife, strangled, and sexually assaulted her. Connelley, who is homeless, currently has 10 previous felonies which are still pending in court prior to this assault (ABC 4) Legendary Jazz player Karl Malone is flying into Utah to host a press conference at the Heber airport. According to the Utah Food Bank, it has been told Malone is coming back to make a "life-changing" announcement for it.
