WATSONVILLE, CA — About 2,220 Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers across Santa Cruz County, including 61 in Watsonville, woke without power Tuesday morning after high winds Monday prompted widespread power outages.
All but 720 — most of whom were in Corralitos — remained without power late Tuesday afternoon.

Corralitos: 907 customers.Lompico: 430 customers.Soquel: 347 customers.Santa Cruz: 333 customers.Scotts Valley: 136 customers.Watsonville: 61 customers. A few other communities saw very small outages not affecting more than a few people, according to PG&E's outage map.
Much of the Bay Area, including the Santa Cruz Mountains region, was covered through 5 p.m. Tuesday by a red flag warning, meaning any wildfires sparked could spread quickly, according to the National Weather Service. Officials were concerned about the combination of high winds and dry conditions.
PG&E initiated Monday a public safety power shutoff in parts of the Bay Area, excluding Santa Cruz County, in hopes to avoid equipment-sparked wildfires. The county was again spared from another round of power shutoffs planned to begin Wednesday.
Check the PG&E outage map for the latest numbers and estimated power restoration times.
