WALNUT CREEK, CA — Power has been restored to most of the nearly 800 customers in the Parkmead and Saranap areas of Walnut Creek, PG&E reports. The outage began shortly before noon on both sides of Olympic Boulevard. By 3:15 p.m., less than 5 customers were still out. At 11:54 a.m., the PulsePoint app reports that power lines were arcing on Magnolia Way, within the outage area. Winds were ripping through the area at the time. PG&E officially blamed the outage on equipment. The company shut off power to thousands of people in California Monday morning because of high winds that were forecast. The Walnut Creek outage was not part of the Public Safety Power Shutoff.
