The Foundation - New Open Jam & Performance Series Coming Soon

The Foundation is a bi-weekly open jam and artist performance series hosted by several veterans of Seattle’s improvised funk and jazz scene. The core Foundation band features bass, drums, guitar and keyboards with an additional featured guest player performing for one set followed by an Open Jam set with the Foundation backing soloists (horns, guitar, vocalists) and/or replacing core members on their instruments (bass, drums, etc.). Musicians for the Open Jam can sign up in advance and during the night. The focus of The Foundation is improvised music with the core providing the backbone or foundation for others to build upon and create something new and unique at each performance. The Foundation hopes to attract some of Seattle’s seasoned players and younger musicians to mingle in a welcoming inclusive environment, make creative music and forge new relationships.
