Here are the top stories today in Indianapolis: The Marion County Prosecutor's Office has charged Sgt. Eric Huxley of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department with one felony count of official misconduct and one count of battery resulting in moderate injury, after he used excessive force against a man during a Sept. arrest. Yesterday, IMPD Chief Randal Taylor announced he is recommending that Huxley, a 14-year veteran, be terminated for his actions. The officer has been placed on leave without pay while the incident continues to be under investigation, including the actions of the two other IMPD officers who were involved in the arrest of Jermaine Vaughn. (WFYI) An Indianapolis mother is seeking justice after her son was one of two people murdered in the city on Monday. Ebony Allen lost her son, Chris Richardson, after he was shot to death in the middle of the day while sitting inside a Jeep along Grand Ave. near 38th St. Just eight hours after Richardson's death, police were called to an E 46th St. near Binford where another man was killed inside a home in an unrelated case. (CBS 4 Indianapolis) Indianapolis Animal Care Services will be hosting Pup-kin Patch free adoption events throughout October, starting today.
