Description

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Over 60 percent of teens in the United States report their home medicine as their source of drugs, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. National Prescription Take Back Day is a day meant to bring awareness to this statistic, and the Orange County Sheriff's Department will hold a prescription collection site in Rancho Santa Margarita on Oct. 23. All residents with unneeded prescription medication are encouraged to drop off expired or unwanted medication anonymously, safely and free of charge. The collection drive takes place at Rancho Santa Margarita City Hall, 22112 El Paseo, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prescription medication is all that will be accepted, according to the flyer — the collection site will not take marijuana, sharps, liquids or pressure canisters. Residents with questions are encouraged to call (714)-647-4133.
