JOLIET, IL — A 33-year-old Joliet woman with two previous DUIs including one from last August in Cook County was jailed last week in Joliet in connection with aggravated driving under the influence charges. Will County prosecutors stated that last week's arrest of Anita Moreno on a stretch of Interstate 80 in Joliet Township marks her third DUI violation.
Moreno, who lives in the 0 to 100 block of Louis Road in the Preston Heights area of Joliet Township, has been charged by Will County prosecutors with two counts of aggravated DUI and one count of aggravated driving while license revoked.
Moreno's previous DUIs occurred in 2010 in Will County and in August 2020 in Cook County, court records show.
During the early morning hours of Oct. 6, Moreno was driving a Chevrolet car along Interstate 80 near mile marker 133 when she was under the influence of alcohol, the complaint states.
At the time of her arrest by Illinois State Police troopers, Moreno's driving privileges were revoked or suspended, and this marks her third violation of driving while license revoked, her complaint stated.
Moreno was booked into the Will County Jail around 4:15 a.m. and by 7:05 p.m. on Oct. 6, she was released from custody after posting 10 percent of her $7,500 bail, jail logs show.
