Founded in 1994, LGBTQIA+ History Month is celebrated in October to coincide with National Coming Out Day (October 11) as well as the first march on Washington for LGBTQ rights on October 14, 1979. This month-long celebration is an opportunity to learn about the remarkable contributions of LGBTQIA+ individuals to history.
