BERKELEY, CA — Cal for a second straight week knocked off the nation's top-ranked water polo team. The No. 5 Golden Bears on Saturday upset No. 1 USC 7-6 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation opener for both teams. The Golden Bears (15-2, 1-0 MPSF) on Sept. 25 defeated then-No. 1 UCLA 10-9 in an MPSF Invitational semifinal. Junior goalie Adrian Weinberg had a career-high 20 saves and All-American Nikos Delagrammatikas had a hat trick against USC (11-1, 0-1). Jack Deely contributed two assists for Cal, which avenged a 12-11 loss to USC on Sept. 26. Deely leads the conference in points (70) and assists.
