They combined their imagination and considerable sales ability and brought their dream to fruition. The championship 18 hole, par 72 golf course provides golfers with a challenging test of golf. Mission Valley was rated four stars by Golf Digest for our outstanding championship design, course conditions, and customer service. Our club winds through natural wetlands, water hazards and many strategically placed fairway and greenside bunkers. We are seeking to fill a full-time Assistant Golf Course Maintenance Mechanic position. Position Purpose and Objectives: Maintains Pope Golf (and Club) equipment to high standards. Ensures all equipment is operating in a safe and efficient manner and at peak performance. Essential Job Functions: Overhauls equipment engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials and hydraulic systems. Performs preventative maintenance as directed. Other Functions: Checks and fills all equipment fluid levels Lubricates equipment. Changes and repairs tires. Assists in ordering parts as needed. Routine inspections and adjustments. Minor bodywork and painting. All duties assigned by the Head Mechanic and Superintendent. Adheres to standard safety practices including but not limited to wearing gloves, glasses, boots, etc. Employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job related duties as requested. Essential Job Requirements and Skills: Requires a working knowledge of general operation of gasoline, diesel and electric equipment. Knowledge of proper methods of servicing golf course equipment. Knowledge of the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment. Knowledge of gas and stick welding. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. Working Conditions: Must be able to work in a shop environment without climate control. Education and Training: A minimum requirement of a High School diploma or GED and 2 years experience as a small engine/lawnmower mechanic.
