Without a doubt, Rocket is someone's dream dog. We mean it. He is 100% best friend material - friendly, trained, well-mannered, take-anywhere, & he has a wonderful medium energy. Rocket is ~ 1-2 years young & has a shiny dark/sealed chocolate coat. He seems to be a Labrador mix, maybe with Boxer (called a Boxador!). He weighs about 65lbs, so is perfectly sized. TRAINING: This exceptional boy is an absolute treasure who aims to please. He is house-trained, perfectly crate-trained, walks well on a leash, knows the commands SIT, WAIT, DOWN, SHAKE, comes when called, loves to go on car rides, & wants to make every day of your life the best day ever. In fact, his foster mom says Rocket is such a good boy, he makes her personal dogs look like heathens! He also loves to work for treats & takes treats very gently. He would love to find a home that wants to continue to teach him cool new things. SOCIALIZATION: Rocket is a well-socialized boy who likes meeting new people & loves to be petted. He enjoys playing with friendly dogs similar to his size & he even attended doggy daycare where he got to hang out with tons of other dogs daily. He has been around smaller dogs as well. (And, he mostly ignores his foster mom’s chickens, too!) Rocket doesn’t currently live with kids but should do fine in a home with teenagers who are comfortable around medium-sized dogs. Occasionally, when Rocket gets excited, he can forget he’s not a puppy anymore & will mouth a bit which may overwhelm small children. His foster mom is working with him on this & he is making excellent progress, but he is still a very young dog learning all about this human world! ENERGY: Rocket’s energy level easily should blend with a variety of homes. He likes to run/play, he loves to carry around his squeaky toy, & would love to find a home looking for a dog to take on daily outings. But, he also really enjoys his nap time & a good Netflix marathon! Rocket is the type of dog that should be great going out to the park for a walk, heading down some trails for a hike, or hanging out by your feet on your favorite restaurant patio. Also, Rocket only barks occasionally so should do well in a variety of homes, including apartments or condos. We know there is someone out there with a Rocket-shaped hole in their heart whose life will be made complete with this very good boy. This dog is close to perfect. His foster home is lucky to have had a chance to care for him & someone else is going to be just as lucky, too. We would love for you to meet him. Rocket is only $70 to adopt. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, & current to heartworm/flea preventative.
