Wisconsin Globe & Anchor Detachment 359 - Marine Corps League 2021 Birthday Ball Celebration - Kestrel Ridge Golf Course in Columbus, WI The Wisconsin Globe & Anchor (Detachment 359 of the Marine Corps League) will celebrate the 246th Marine Corps Birthday with a Birthday Ball at 1800 hours (6pm) November 6, 2021 at Kestrel Ridge Golf Course located at 900 Avalon Rd. Columbus, WI 53925. Attire will be semi-formal to formal (no t-shirts or jeans). The event will kick off with a social hour/cash bar at 1800 hours (6pm). Each ticket holder will receive a free EGA-logoed rocks glass and (1) free drink to start the night off. After social hour we will perform the 246th Marine Corps Birthday Ball celebration followed by dinner at 1900 hours (7pm). Dinner menu includes a choice of beef sirloin tips or chicken parmesan with oven-roasted baby reds, glazed carrots and a garden salad. Marines will perform a cake-cutting ceremony for the dessert portion of the evening while recognizing the youngest and oldest Marines present. This year's guest speaker will be Marine Corps Veteran and 2019 Mrs. Wisconsin - Kim Galske. After dinner there will be music and dancing. Kim Galske joined the Marine Corps in 1995 and was stationed with 1st Marine Division Truck Company, Camp Pendleton, Camp Margarita. Mrs. Galske also served as NCOIC for police records as an MP as well as court liaison for the base and surrounding areas before leaving the Marine Corps. After getting out of the Corps, Kim went from being homeless to managing an investment company for almost 9 years, to managing an NPO Esprit de Corps Wisconsin to being crowned 2019 Mrs. Wisconsin. Kim also founded a company called Own Your Life as well as a coffee shop in Fond du Lac that she runs with her husband Kevin. Among other activities, Kim is also a member of the Marine Corps League and we welcome her to our celebration and thank her for her service!
