Description

A SHOUT IN THE DARK TO THOSE WHO MAY HAVE THE SKILLS AND INTEREST FOR THE GAME BELOW (please email if interested) GOAL: We need "UNSAFE" virtual spaces with ability to "virtually kill each other". Freedom of speech is the moral scafolding for any society, it is also a practical necessity. "A society that prohibits public discussion of uncomfortable ideas, or even blatantly false and evil ideas, has no chance of correcting mistakes and ensuring that the best ideas flourish and bad ideas die."(https://www.eff.org/issues/free-speech) Unfortunately, people are muzzled at school, work, surveillance on the street, ect. IDEA: A community game which is a cross between fight club (ONLINE GAMING/E-SPORTS) and debate. Where you can kick the virtual ass of any idea/ group/ideology combining both violence and real debate. OUTLINE: Controversial Topics and games maybe be chosen by Individuals/Teams and submitted... Competitors would rise to meet the challenge and be randomly picked. Players would have at least a month of prep time. Those playing can be in costume, have fake names if there is a concern. Debate would last about 20 minutes total.. Audience would vote for the the winning debate and then the virtual game would start. The winner of the debate would have an advatage given to them (to be worked out with the Game chosen). Then they fight and the winner takes all. Target Audience would be Colleges. However, anyone can be on the team from the community, thought influencers, professors Seneca wrote (about the Colosseum) in one of his Letters ‘I happened to pop in on a midday show, looking for entertainment, wit, and some relaxation’.
