Description
Hosted in a former bank building, Kin DAO presents NFT artworks shifting definitions of value. Friday, October 8th, 2021, the hosts — The Kin Dao, Local Maker Mart and The Vault Gallery prepare for their offical premiere of Hyphae, a real life NFT Art Exhibition. Hyphae, defined as the branching filaments that make up the mycelium of a fungus, represents the beginnings of communal art bridge building and value shifting. Kindness Grocery Cooperative, an innovative cooperative, launched The Kin DAO in September of 2021 as a digital branch of their operation. Their intention; to use digital tools to bring equitable systems to the real world through NFT art, collective land purchase and regenerative practices. With these tools the Kin Dao plans to collectively purchase farm land to expand the regenerative and sustainable community work of Kindness Grocery Cooperative. Hosted in a former bank building, Hyphae touches on the extractive value structures disrupting life systems and facilitates perspective shifts to collectively redefine worth. The exhibit emphasizes the importance of creativity and collaboration and how blockchain technology is supporting this value shift. As Keikreutler writes, “this transfer of resources to artists is also a transfer of institutional power.” Hyphae has been curated by Asya Abdrahman, co-curated by Adrian Bello and will be featuring artists EFAM, Anna Talhami, BitSavage, Howie Whitehouse, Peter Eller, Kush, Gabe Sherman, Shamell Bell, Taliq Tillman, Maggie Flaherty and other outstanding contributors. From Oct 9th to Oct 24th Kin DAO will be hosting workshops centered around digital wellness, blockchain onboarding, and NFT art to pair with the artworks shown. As the exhibition grows in time, so will the interactive installations planned to pop up throughout the exhibition for the community to engage in. Stay tuned for the blooming of this innovate and value shifting experience
