Teen Experience: Black Poetry Day
Teens in grades 6-10 are invited to come learn about Black Poetry Day. October 17th honors past and present black poets. The day also commemorates the birth of the first published black poet in the United States. Jupiter Hammon was born in Long Island, New York, on October 17th, 1711. Teens are invited to join us for a look at historic to contemporary black poets & their work and make a decoupage poetry bowl. Registration Requested. Space Very Limited.
Effective Monday, August 2, 2021, all Wake County Facilities including Public Libraries, will require visitors and staff ages 5 and up to wear a mask and complete a brief health screening questionnaire upon entering buildings.
