Another Miracle for Drew Oyster Roast and BBQ Fundraiser is Sponsored by Amiable Come join us on Saturday, November 6th from 4 pm - 6 pm at Mark and Charlie Andrews' home where Amiable will be hosting an Oyster Roast and BBQ Fundraiser for Drew Shelton. Drew suffered a traumatic brain injury as a passenger in a one-car accident in February of 2008. The driver died and Drew's parents have taken care of him at their home ever since. Drew does not walk, talk or move much at all, and is forced to eat through a feeding tube. He requires daily suctioning and suffers from seizures a few times every month. Drew requires around-the-clock care which is a difficult balance provided by his mom and dad, as well as part-time professional nursing through a home health agency. However, since Covid, home nursing costs have skyrocketed due to supply and demand. Drew's parents need a nurse five days per week, but currently, only have a nurse one to two days per week due to increasingly high out-of-pocket costs. Drew's mom and dad both work full-time and still can't keep up with the increasing medical, PT, and nursing expenses required to care for Drew. Even with the help of insurance, the out-of-pocket costs are continuously increasing, putting Drew's parents in desperate need to secure funds to pay for the proper care and nursing that Drew's survival depends on.
