This is an opportunity for the community to “Welcome” one of the brave interpreters and their family to Charlotte.
This is an opportunity for the community to “Welcome” one of the brave interpreters and their family to Charlotte. This interpreter bravely served alongside American forces in Afghanistan for years to ensure the safety of our troops as well as the security of his country. We are thrilled he, and his family, have decided to make Charlotte his new home and we want to show them how welcome they are.
The Independence Fund proudly supports Afghan Interpreters, many of whom provided life saving support to American troops during the last two decades of war in Afghanistan. "Johnny", his wife, and three daughters will make their home in North Carolina, where many of Johnny's 82nd Airborne Division brothers reside. Johnny's family was evacuated from Kabul after the Taliban seized his home after the collapse of the Afghan Government in August. We call on all Americans to embrace our wartime Allies, and The Independence Fund looks to set the example of loving and welcoming our new neighbors.
