A fun filled festival running November 13-14 featuring the United States Border Collie Handlers’ Association, Carolina Dock Dogs, and more! What better way to wrap up the fall season than with your canine pal and several hundred of their new best friends? Bring your family, friends, and dog (or dogs) to the Rural Hill Sheepdog Trials and Dog Festival for one of the area’s best known dog events, now in its twenty-fifth year! No other dog festival in the area can offer more fun or variety! Don’t miss a thing! National Border Collie Sheepherding Championships and Carolina Dock Dogs competitions will be held over the two day event as will the Dog Sports demonstrations and more! Also on hand will be North Carolina beer and wine, heritage breed livestock, hay rides, historic craft and cooking demos, food vendors, shopping, open trails, antique tractors, living history demonstrations in the 1760’s cabin, pumpkin chunkin’, corn launchin’, kid’s activities, and much more! Please use entrance on Neck Road - DO NOT USE JIM KIDD TO ACCESS THE PROPERTY, NO MATTER WHAT GOOGLE MAPS TELLS YOU - IT WILL BE LOCKED! The Sheepdog Trials are a rain or shine event. Tickets are non-refundable. Historic Rural Hill is a private non-profit organization located in Huntersville, NC.  We operate a 265 acre working farm that is owned by Mecklenburg County Parks and Rec.  Rural Hill is a working farm, historic site, educational facility, nature preserve, and event site.  We host events year round and many are fundraisers for the site that help us put on free community oriented events and educational programs for local schools.  We also operate as the historic homestead of the Davidson family.  We offer tours and living history to educate the community on the local history and we are open year round.  We would love to have you visit us for one our events or to learn more about the sites history.  We offer a wide variety of events, educational programs, living history experiences, and volunteer opportunities.
