Description
PORT WASHINGTON, NY — In an effort to help families navigate the academic challenges brought on by COVID-19 and beyond, the Port Washington School District's Board of Education will be holding a community forum this month.
The community forum will take place in person at Paul D. Schreiber High School, and via live stream on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. Those in attendance will be encouraged to discuss topics that are important to them, including the experiences of their children, what is being facilitated well in the district, and areas of concern and suggestions for improvement.
Those unable to attend the forum in person can submit questions here by 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18.
"The job of the Board of Education is multifaceted but at its core is the shared desire to make the academic experience of our district students an enriching one," said school board president Emily Beys. "Engaging with community members on ways in which we can expand upon the district's already extensive academic resources and extracurricular offerings, amongst other things, helps ensure that we are a united district and continue to provide the highest quality education to our students and the best practices with our district families."
