Description
TAMPA, FL — With the help of DNA analysis, Tampa police detectives have made an arrest in the Feb. 6 shooting death of a man.
At 11:12 p.m. Feb. 6, Tampa police received a report of a man lying in the road in the 2300 block of East 9th Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
During a search of the area, police found a change of clothes nearby.
In April, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement ran a DNA analysis on the clothing and, in August, reported that the results matched Jaime Scott, who was out of jail on probation. Homicide detectives were able to link Scott to the clothing and other evidence at the crime scene.
On Oct. 8, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force found and arrested Scott.
