TAMPA, FL — A 45-year-old Tampa man is in critical condition in the hospital after being struck by an unmarked Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office vehicle. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 6:08 a.m. Monday, the sheriff's cruiser, driven by a 36-year-old deputy, was traveling north on Nebraska Avenue south of Lambright Street when the man walked into the path of the car. The pedestrian was not using a crosswalk.
