NORWOOD, MA - "Where, O Where is Light? From Darkness to Light with Rabindranath Tagore's Compositions," a live concert by Maitreyee Chakraborty, Suhail Yusuf Khan, and Mona Roy, will take place on Saturday, November 13 at 5:30 p.m. in-person at the Fred Holland Day House at 93 Day Street. The Morrill Memorial Library, in partnership with the Norwood Historical Society, is pleased topresent this special evening concert. Vocalist Maitreyee Chakraborty, sarangi player Suhail Yusuf Khan, and harmonium player Mona Roy will sing the compositions of Rabindranath Tagore, a late 19th century polymath of Bengal, India who received the Nobel Prize for Literature. As our world is slowly coming out of the darkness of the pandemic, we look for light within and outside us. Tagore's lyrics talk about the light of hope and peace. The words are poetic and the thoughts are universal. All songs will have English translations. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Norwood, Canton and Walpole CulturalCouncils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. Lightrefreshments will be offered outdoors following the concert, weather permitting. The concert willalso be broadcast live. Space is limited; registration is required.
