Woman Charged In Knifepoint Robbery In Wallingford: Police

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Wallingford woman has been arrested in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a gas station in town earlier this year. The robbery happened around 1:50 a.m. on July 29 at the Sunoco Gas Station at 810 South Colony Road, according to Sgt. Stephen Jaques. Jaques said an investigation found that the suspects, a man and a woman, used a knife to threaten the clerk. Both were wearing partial facemasks, according to Jaques. They stole cash from the register and left in a blue Mitsubishi Mirage that was stolen out of Hartford at the time of the incident, according to Jaques. After an investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant for Jacqueline Gambardella. Jaques said Gambardella was found and detained by Newington police on Oct. 8, and she was arrested and taken back to Wallingford Police Headquarters for processing. Gambardella, 23, of North Airline Road, was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, first-degree robbery with a dangerous instrument and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny. She was held in lieu of a $350,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 12.
