House Fire Displaces Residents In Springdale: Stamford FD

Description

STAMFORD, CT — A fire broke out at a two-story home on Haig Avenue in the Springdale section of Stamford early Sunday night, according to the Stamford Fire Department. The residents were displaced because of fire, smoke and water damage; no injuries were reported. Stamford 911 received a call shortly after 5 p.m about a fire in an upstairs bedroom at 340 Haig Ave. The chief of the Springdale Fire Department arrived first and confirmed the fire. Engine 7 from the Springdale department was able to contain the fire, according to Capt. Philip Hayes of the Stamford Fire Department. Overall, four Engine Companies, a Truck Company, Rescue Company, Deputy Chief, and volunteer firefighters from Springdale responded. The blaze was placed under control at 5:49 p.m., fire officials said. Scene support was provided by Stamford Emergency Medical Services, and the Stamford Police Department. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Stamford Fire Marshal's Office.
