NORTH HAVEN, CT — The 2021 municipal election is heating up in North Haven with plenty of races on the ballot. Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 2 and cast their ballots for the Board of Selectmen, Board of Education, Town Clerk/Tax Collector and more. North Haven Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near. David A. Cohen, 44, is running for election to the North Haven Board of Finance as a Democrat. Occupation: Attorney (In-house Counsel) Family: Kim, wife Kamryn, daughter, 10 Leo, son, 8 Experience: no Family in government: no The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it: The single most pressing issue facing our town is the lack of transparency and accessibility in town budgeting and I intend to shine a light on how the town spends its money and allocates its resources. Critical differences between me and my opponents: I want to pull back the curtain on how the town budgets. I will bring a collaborative and energetic approach to town administration. Accomplishments: I have been a practicing attorney (in both private practice and in-house) for over 15 years and managing complex transactions and commercial matters. I have worked with businesses of all sizes to help them achieve their strategic goals. I am confident I can help the town of North Haven responsibly manage its finances and plan for its future.
