Anne Dauphinais, a Republican, wrote this comment in response to a CTNewsJunkie story on how many state employees didn't comply with Gov. Ned Lamont's order to get the vaccine. "King Lamont aka Hitler dictating what we must inject into our bodies to feed our family!" the comment reads, as reported by Hearst CT. In a lengthy Facebook post, Dauphinais stood by her comment. "My comments were neither anti-Semitic nor factually inaccurate. This Governor, with the help of the one-party rule we have in this state right now, has taken dictatorial powers for himself for what will be almost 2 full years when this latest extension expires. Hitler too was a dictator enabled by the rule of the single Nazi party." Her comment drew outrage from leading Democrats. My grandmother escaped the Holocaust as a refugee. Her uncles, aunts and cousins did not. She's alive today and vaccinated against COVID-19. The comparison is an insult to the living and an insult to the dead. https://t.co/vjVC72PE8J— Matt Lesser (@MattLesser) October 8, 2021 Lamont discusses CT's new efforts to combat gun violence If you're not taking guns seriously, you're not taking law & order seriously. I take guns very seriously, evidenced by CT's willingness to work with other states to track and trace them. This innovative database will get more firearms off the street and keep folks safe. pic.twitter.com/dT0ajbmWlX— Governor Ned Lamont (@GovNedLamont) October 11, 2021 Halloween is a go this year 'Enjoy Halloween': Fauci Says It's OK to Trick-or-Treat Outside This Year https://t.co/u5Npl2cpDb— NBC Connecticut (@NBCConnecticut) October 11, 2021
