High: 45 Low: 36. Here are the top stories today in Salt Lake City: Salt Lake County has launched a new website that provides easy access to food resources for those who may be struggling. According to an annual report tracking Household Food Security in the United States in 2020, one in 10 Utah households experience food insecurity, and more than 102,000 Utah families do not have the resources to buy enough food. The new Food Access webpage provides simple, clear links to all the food assistance programs available throughout Salt Lake City and Utah. ABC 4) Salt Lake City School District is now adopting a student plan to achieve 100% clean-renewable electricity by 2030, and carbon neutrality by 2040. The district has 43 buildings, and students found they are the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. The plan calls attention to three areas: reduce energy use by electric and natural gas equipment, increase and produce renewable energy, and electrify all vehicles, buildings, and other equipment using fossil fuels. (ABC 4) The approximately 87 stranded runners along the DC Peaks 50 ultra trail route Saturday are safe after they became endangered by winter weather at the peak. (KSL.com) Laser strikes on aircraft are rising again with Utah among the states with the highest problem. The Federal Aviation Administration warns that offenders face hefty fines if they're caught. (KSL.com) Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department had initially asked for help from the public to locate the 8-year-old boy who went missing in the Poplar Grove area of Salt Lake, but he was found about three hours later and is safe.
