The Korum Automotive Group is hiring for a Pre-Delivery specialist! The Pre-Delivery Service Specialist is responsible for completing the Pre-Delivery Inspection (“PDI”) process (e.g., mechanical and detailing of all new vehicle makes), and performing light maintenance/detailing work on vehicles purchased by the Korum Automotive Group’s dealerships. This position is responsible for receiving and inspecting all vehicles (new and/or used), accurately entering vehicle information into the DMS and completing the PDI check sheets for the corresponding Ford / Lincoln and Hyundai models. Provides completed PDI findings to the applicable Service Manager to ensure corrective actions (or warranty services) may be taken. Working in a coordinated effort with the applicable Sales and Service Managers this position will prioritize workflow and ensure that the PDI process is completed safely, timely, meeting all quality and delivery expectations. This position also serves the organization, as needed, in the role of a “Detail Services Technician” at the discretion of the Detail Services Manager. Successful candidates will be self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision. Duties include: Ensures adequate PDI procedures/processes and “quality control checks” are in place for the PDI process (e.g., vehicle receiving/inspection, stock tag stickers, key management, mechanical, and detailing) and coordinates such with the Sales and Service Managers using check lists and/or other applicable documentation/processes. Completes thorough inspections and manufacturer-required diagnostics and mechanical services on each vehicle received for PDI services. Completes a visual inspection for obvious damage, missing components, and loose or misaligned items (e.g., trim, doors, or hardware). Starts engine and drives to test steering, brakes, transmission, and engine operation. Activates power equipment to confirm operation is within specified standards (e.g., power windows and seats, radio, horn, lights and directional signals. Properly records the necessary information for each PDI service using the required documentation/technology system and performs appropriate inspections/diagnostics/road tests/detailing/etc. for each vehicle. Ensures adherence to PDI-related manufacturer warranty processing expectations and that appropriate warranty information (and parts retention) is provided to support the dealership’s warranty claims processes. Immediately provides completed PDI issues/concerns to the applicable Service Manager so that a timely decision on corrective actions can be taken. Stays abreast of new trends and techniques in new vehicle PDI services. Keeps current on all applicable factory training including certifications, web-based or other training. Adheres to all departmental procedures and practices, product manufacturers’ application instructions, as well as safety and security practices. Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect hazardous waste disposal, DOSH Right-To-Know, and First Aid. Ensures appropriate and timely opening and closing of the PDI Shop each day, including locking of vehicles, equipment, and supplies. Keep all vehicles (including keys) that are in the PDI Shop’s control secure and free from damage/loss at all times. Maintains good housekeeping in the PDI shop as well as the car wash, pressure wash, and vehicle staging and storage areas.
