Here are the top stories today in Irving: Here's hoping you didn't have tickets for one of the many, many canceled Southwest Airlines flights over the weekend. Ben Russel reports that the airline canceled nearly 2,000 flights nationwide and delayed others. Among other causes, Southwest officials are attributing the cancelations to 'staffing issues.' There's some speculation about whether these staffing issues are related to the company's pilots' union challenging recent federal vaccine mandates. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)A DFW airport rental car fraud ring has been linked to a Chicago shooting spree that injured four innocent bystanders in late September. DFW Airport Police arrested five individuals in September, one of whom claimed links to Zoe God, described as a "fraud kingpin to several organized crime groups."
