Fulton School's 2021 Flash Mob Video has been recognized by the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (INSPRA). The video received an award for In-House Video in the organization's Communications Contest. To celebrate the end of each school year, Jill Adams (Music Teacher), Joe Glase (Music Teacher), Anne Jackson (Media Center Director), and Dan McLaughlin (Art Teacher), prepare a dance routine set to music for all Fulton students and staff to learn. This year, Tech Support Specialist Michael Benz added some special effects and finishing touches to the video. Additionally, the District and its Communications Specialist Keegan Kociss were recognized with an award for In-House Video for the 2021 District 146 Retiree Recognition video. The District's Birth to Three program brochure also received an award in the Marketing Materials category. "I am proud of the innovative ways our District and schools regularly communicate with our families," said Dr. Jeff Stawick, Superintendent. "Communication with our families and community members at District 146 has been changing for the better. Photos, videos, and online media allow us to share stories from the classrooms in an exciting way. I congratulate Keegan and the Fulton staff on their accomplishments, and look forward to continuing the great communication." District 146 was recognized, along with the top communicators in the state, by INSPRA at its annual Communications Contest Awards Luncheon on September 10. Professional school communicators from across the country judged the submissions. Each entry was evaluated by three judges against a rubric of excellence, with awards given to those that scored within the established ranges for merit and excellence. "We are proud to recognize the winners of the 2021 Communications Contest," INSPRA President Alex Mayster said. "The roles of school communicators have been magnified since the onset of COVID-19, and our contest winners have continued to move forward and, at times, reimagine the way communication looks to ensure their school communities are well-informed." Community Consolidated School District 146 is comprised of Central Middle School, Fierke Education Center, Fulton School, Kruse Education Center, and Memorial School. Students from Tinley Park, Orland Park, and Oak Forest attend District 146 schools.
