Description
OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police are investigating criminal damage to property at an Oswego fountain after someone put soap in it Saturday, causing "many bubbles."
Officers were called the Churchill Club subdivision, located off Wolf's Crossing Road, around 11 a.m. for a complaint from the homeowners' association who said an unknown person or group put soap in the fountain at the entrance of the area, on Bluegrass Parkway.
It's the third time someone reported soap in that entrance fountain. It also happened once in August 2006 and another time in June 2011, according to Cathy Nevara, the public information officer for Oswego police.
To drain and clean the fountain — in order to rid the system of the bubbling soap — will cost between $3,000 to $5,000, Nevara said.
The police department doesn't currently have any suspects for Saturday's incident. Nevara said she can't provide further details since it's an ongoing investigation.
