Boston Marathon 2021: Track Birmingham Area Runners

BOSTON, MA — The Boston marathon is underway, which means 35 runners from the Birmingham metro are making their 26.2-mile journey from Hopkinton to the famed Boylston Street finish line in Boston. To track a particular runner, go to the Boston Athletic Association's tracker. You can search participants via electronic chips if you have their bib number, name or city/town they are from. This year has staggered start times; everyone will have left the start line by 10 a.m. CT. Race officials said the marathon will return back to its traditional Patriots Day date beginning next year.
