Here are the top stories today in Atlanta: In-person early voting begins today in Georgia and continues through Oct. 29. During the early voting period – unlike on Election Day – you don't have to vote at an assigned polling location, but you do have to vote at an early voting location within your county. A valid photo ID, such as a driver's license, passport or voter identification card, is required. (Patch Atlanta)Zoo Atlanta has a new resident in its African Savanna complex. Kiazi, a 19-year-old female southern white rhinoceros, arrived from the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance Monday. Kiazi, whose name means "sweet potato," joins Mumbles, a 10-year-old male southern white rhino, in the zoo's new Savanna habitat. The white rhinoceros is the largest of the five rhino species, and they face poaching for their horns.(FOX 5 Atlanta)The Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers broke their 1-1 tie Monday at Truist Park when the Braves beat the Brewers in Game 3 of their best-of-five National League Division Series. With a 2-1 advantage, another win will send the Braves to its second consecutive NL Championship Series. The next game is at 5:07 p.m. today at Truist Park. (CBSsports.com)Two teens and two adults were identified as the victims of a plane crash Friday at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport, according to the DeKalb medical examiner's office. Jonathan Rosen, 47, the small aircraft's pilot and owner, died in the crash, as did his 14-year-old daughter Allison, Lauren Harrington, 42, and Julia Smith, 13, according to the medical examiner's office. There were no survivors. (Free: People.com; Subscription: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)The Atlanta Humane Society has rescued eight puppies orphaned after their mother was shot and killed. The shepherd mixes are only a couple weeks old and will require weeks of around-the-clock bottle feeding from specially trained foster caregivers, according to the humane society. The Howell Mill Road location in northwest Atlanta is caring for the litter. More information on the humane society's wish list for these puppies as well as other animals in their care is online.
