Deceased Dog Found

This is a very sad post to write. I found a dog that appears to have been hit by a car and passed away the evening of 10/10. It has a collar but no tags. I know that if the situation were reversed and it were my dog I would really want to know what happened to them so I am making this post in case someone is looking for them. The dog is small, tan colored and possibly a Chihuahua. I will include a picture to help with identification. The animal shelter is closed today but I think I will try to take the dog there tomorrow morning to see if it is micro-chipped and attempt to contact its family that way. If this is your dog I am very sorry for your loss; if you send me an email through Craigslist I will return the remains. If the dog is not micro-chipped and I am otherwise unable to locate its family by the end of the day on 10/12/2021 I will need to go ahead and bury it at that time.
