Long standing Retail & Service Company is seeking an experienced Service Technician with great common sense and work ethic and is mechanically inclined as a skilled fabricator to join our team. This individual will be working within our operations department maintaining and creating various types of large-scale irrigation systems & equipment. This person will be using specialized equipment to fabricate, repair, service and assemble steel and aluminum custom parts. This position would also include counter sales and customer service aspects. The ideal candidate will have an extensive mechanical aptitude, have the ability to diagnose and problem solve mechanical problems and a working knowledge of metal welding processes including but not limited to TIG and MIG welding and plasma cutting tools and the ability to dis-assemble and repair many different types of parts and equipment. Duties would include but are not limited to: • Working with customers to understand their specific needs, and follow through to make sure those needs are met in a timely and efficient manner • Work closely with our Operations Manager in scheduling time and the materials for fabrication and maintenance of parts needed • Troubleshoot and repair defective parts and equipment in our shop or on-site • Assist with in-field installations • Perform on-site service calls • Weld / fabricate aluminum and steel fittings • Respond to repair and service projects in a timely fashion • Assist in the maintenance of company equipment, including routine inspections and willingness to train others on the proper use of equipment and tools • Adhere to strict safety protocols • Complete timesheets timely and accurately Skills required: • Mechanical aptitude, ability to understand problems and to formulate solutions with limited supervision • Working knowledge of different kinds of welding, cutting tools and equipment • Physical strength (able to lift 40-50 pounds) Ability to kneel, bend and twist while working on equipment and projects • Basic computer skills Employment: • The ideal candidate will require having a clean driving record • Compensation DOE • We offer competitive wages and employee benefits including Medical Insurance, 401K, Vacation, Sick, & Holiday PTO • We maintain a drug free workplace
