Lone Star Staffing is hiring line production workers for a large salad distribution center in Oak Cliff, Texas. This position is long term and with potential growth. Don't miss this opportunity! ∙ The purpose of this position is to properly pack the salads/parfaits/fruit cups/other into boxes or RPC for shipment to the end customer. Salads are packed into a box holding 6 trays, 2 layers of 3. Parfaits cup, first build the insert and place inside the box. Parfaits are packed into a box holding 6 cups. Fruit cup is packed into a box holding 4 cups. ∙ Will work under direct supervision of the Team Leader. ∙ Applies basic knowledge of simple machinery. Employees execute tasks by hand, and may perform basic tasks involving equipment. ∙ Performs duties and tasks routinely. ∙ Maintains cleanliness of the work area. ∙ Follows rules and regulations to ensure food safety, quality, and legality, (HACCP, GMP, Safety) ∙ Maintains and establishes effective working relationships. ∙ Effectively deal with and drive change. ∙ Ability to organize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines. ∙ The ability to learn and apply new technology, with the willingness to share knowledge with others. ∙ Fill out and accurately record quality and production paperwork. ∙ Understand Good Manufacturing Practices. ∙ Pack items following a specific set of instructions. ∙ Check to ensure containers are damage free. ∙ Check to ensure labels and codes are correct. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ∙ Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Physical Requirements ∙ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. ∙ The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. ∙ Employees must submit a post offer, pre-employment drug test and employment history check. ∙ Employees must be able to stand for long periods of time. Work Environment ∙ Full time position ∙ Must be willing to work in a refrigerated environment – Cold/Wet 38°F ∙ Must be able to work 10 hour shifts a day, holidays, and be flexible to work weekends as scheduled or needed. ∙ Must work in a professional and courteous manner with subordinates and peers. ∙ Open to work in a diverse work environment.
