Midwest Converting is a service company engaged in the conversion of paper and board products to different sizes for paper mills, merchants and printers. Our manufacturing operation consists of Slitter, Sheeters, Trimmers, Balers, and Lift Trucks. Our core business and value in the market place, is to inventory/warehouse paper & board products, provide effective converting programs, and serve as the distribution channel between the Paper Mill and Merchant/End User. *******RESUME MUST BE SUBMITTED IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN APPLYING ******** READ THE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking to hire entry level full time employment for our manufacturing department that includes Machine Helper and Roll Wrapper. 1st shift 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 2nd 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Monday thru Friday. Steel toe shoes must be worn. Company will supply hearing protection and safety glasses. Bi-Lingual English and Spanish is a major PLUS Fast paced production and candidate will be required to keep up with the pace of the environment and have great attendance record. Training will be on 1st shift for two weeks prior to starting on 2nd shift. Applicant will have the ability to move up to operator position if willing to learn, have near perfect attendance, and able to keep up with the face pace. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Unwrapping rolls, checking for correct product, and staging for machine Loading machine will rolls of paper and help to feed paper through machine Assist operator in start-up process of the converting Assist operator in continuous quality checking while machine is in operation Assist operator in the unloading of converted products Cutting cores or retrieving skids for finished product Keeping machine and production area clean by general cleaning, sweeping, and vacuuming Wrapping finished converted stock when the process is completed Filling out forms for our Food Safety Program on duties completed General labor work in warehouse or on other machines when needed including janitorial duties, making skids, or working on a Baler Must be motivated, hardworking and available to work overtime if needed Education/ Experience/ Skills: HS Diploma/GED willingness to learn and have strong committed work ethic. Driver's License and reliable transportation required Requirements: Must be able to understand and communicate in Basic English Ability to read a tape measure and understand written orders for converting 3-5 years working in manufacturing environment Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures. Basic understanding of Safety and Food Safety Procedures in a manufacturing environment Will be required to stand, bend, stoop, reach, lift and repeat cleaning motions utilizing cleaning supplies.
