Using 4" trenching shovel, dig a neat trench, 4 inch wide & 12 inch deep. All dirt to be left loose to one side of trench & not stepped on, so it can be used in back fill. Over half digging through soft mowed lawn, the other half through recently cleared blackberry, so there will be some roots to cut through/pull out. (Mattock). Provided: Trencher shovel, digging bar, mattock. **Bring gloves to avoid blisters. You can bring a partner/friend if two of you want to work simultaneously.
