Develop-A-Thon: Taking projects from concept to completion The Develop-A-Thon is a one and half day workshop for emerging developers to create pitch ready presentations to approach investors about their real estate projects. Throughout the sessions, students will create a site plan, produce a proforma, refine sales pitches, and practice presentations. Deliverables can include: Site PlanMarket Analysis Identifying the Most Suitable Capital Stack Options Cost Estimations ProformaFinancial Checklist Pitch Presentation DeckIndustry specific experts, such as architects, engineers, bankers, marketers, and more, will provide guidance throughout the workshop. Class size will be small and broken into groups to ensure adequate and individualized technical assistance for each project. Students will receive professional mentorship valued at over $3,000. The class is best suited for projects: 1) in which the participant has site control over a parcel under three acres, 2) that have an initial vision of what to build/renovate on the site. Preparation: To maximum the value of the workshop, photos and two versions of Google Maps of the site (specific specs will be provided) are required to be submitted two weeks prior to the workshop. Participants are strongly encouraged to complete a Worksheet (provided by RegionSmart) on the project. The worksheet includes answering questions about the neighborhood, any Zoning, 3.0, or neighborhood overlays that impact your project, basic financial data, etc.) All of the information is not required but the more information you provide the more value you will receive from the workshop. You are also encouraged to submit any existing sketches, renderings, etc. of the project When: October 22 (8:00am – 4:30pm), October 23 (8:30am– 12:00pm) Note: A second session will be offered in April 2022. Location: Grace St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Midtown Memphis Pricing: Early Bird Registration (Now through September 12) - $400 Normal Registration (September 13 – September 26) - $500 Late Registration (September 27 – October 10) - $6001-2 people per project may participate – both must be present for the entire workshop. Capacity is limited to 12 projects. Proof of two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine is required to enter.
