Description
We rescued two all-black young rabbits earlier this year (we believe them to be Havana breed; they were found roaming a residential street at midnight and their original owners could not be found after many different attempts, including door to door and contacting local shelters). One turned out to be a female/doe and she gave birth in mid-September to 8 healthy kits.
We are offering the 8 babies to new homes at no charge (free bunnies). They are all now weaned and eating hay (alfalfa and timothy), pellets, spring lettuce mix, flowers & leaves from our garden (marigolds, jasmine, lemon tree leaves, apple tree leaves, homegrown herbs, sunflowers, nasturtium, etc.), and fruits and veggies in moderation (cantaloupe, apple, carrots, celery, cabbage). They also drink from standard water bottles and are learning to use the litter boxes that their Mom & Pop use too.
We're located in Pinole Valley and hoping to re-home the kits (baby bunnies) by Halloween. They are adorable and we're acclimating them to being held/snuggled by human keepers. We're new to owning rabbits but we've already learned: Rabbits make excellent pets - they do not stink, they are easy to care for, they don't make a bunch of noise and they're fun to watch and interact with. They can be indoor or outdoor pets - ours have a room in our house currently. Our feline is quite jealous of how much attention the siblings are getting now.
Interested in adopting one or more? Please reach out! We have a few folks among our friends who are interested, but there are enough to give to others as well. We have 4 tan ones, 2 all black babies (we're keeping the young adults/parents), and 2 grey ones.
