Gunshots Fired Outside of Bar, Suspect Sought: East Haven PD

EAST HAVEN, CT — Police are searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred early Sunday near Rumba Café Bar and Lounge, 679 Main Street, police said. At 1:10 a.m. police responded to Rumba Café Bar and Lounge for a report of gunshots being fired. Several vehicles in the parking lot had been struck by gunfire, police said. McDonald's Restaurant, which is adjacent to the parking lot, was also struck by gunfire, police said. No victims were found. After reviewing video surveillance footage, police said it is believed that a white or Hispanic man in his 20's wearing a red backwards hat, black t- shirt and dark-colored jeans entered a newer model blue vehicle, police said. The suspect is then seen returning to the rear parking lot of Rumba in possession of multiple firearms before firing multiple shots, police said. Patrons in the rear parking lot were running for cover, police said. One of the vehicles struck by gunfire was occupied by two individuals, police said. Neither person was injured.
