Description
3 Juvenile Redfoot Tortoises for rehoming in SW Florida, would like to keep together-Rehoming Fee I have three juvenile Redfoot Tortoises that I need to rehome. They are approximately 15-18 months old. I absolutely will not ship. I am looking for someone that has experience with redfoots to maintain their health and humidity requirements. They will not come with their enclosure, as I built them a huge box with cover that fits my back room (until they are old enough to go outside), but it would not survive the move. I would like them to go to a forever home that will be planning on having them in a large outdoor enclosure when they get old enough. I would like to find someone that will be able to give them the attention they need to live a very long and happy life and someone that can be available to flip them back over when needed. They get daily soaks (20-30 minutes of warm water) and always have access to clean water in their enclosure (water changed daily). As of right now, they get along fine, and I have never had to separate them. This could change as they get older, so you will need to have enough space to separate them if behavior changes. I watch them carefully and have two cameras in their enclosure to help with that. They will come with a large container of Mazuri (the Mazuri is given once a week as a treat and not used daily), hides, slate rock cheese boards that I use for feeding plates, stainless steel food dish /water tray with round railings (I use this to keep the tortoises from making a mess with the moist Mazuri treat), seeds for growing your own tortoise food, Crane Drop Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier and other misc supplies that I have for them. As a side note, they always have access to cuttlefish bone in their enclosure. Even if they choose to ignore it. Diet: I use a 60/30/10 ratio and feed daily. That is 60% greens, 30% fruits, 10% vegetables. Every day they are offered Red Leaf Lettuce, Green Leaf Lettuce and Radicchio. But I rotate the fruits and veggies each week, so they are never eating the same thing. I lightly sprinkle calcium on their food a few times a week. For size proportion, I give greens equal to shell size. Fruits and Veggies are slightly larger than their head. Some examples of rotating foods that have been offered are: Hibiscus Leaves and Flowers, Dandelion Greens, Papaya, Mangos, Red Leaf Lettuce, Green Leaf Lettuce, Radicchio, Butternut and Yellow Squash, Zucchini, Blueberries, Strawberries, Blackberries, Endive, Pineapple, California Poppy, Mustard Greens, Collard Greens, Milk Thistle, Johnny Jump Up Viola, Watercress, Bell Peppers (Red, Yellow or Green), Pot Marigold, Dragon fruit, Kiwi, Wheat Grass, Mushrooms, Prickly Pear Cactus Pads, Mulberry Leaves, Mazuri tortoise food (given once a week as a treat, they LOVE this). Protein is only given once a week over their greens. I have given tuna, waxworms/earthworms (they are not so sure that they like worms yet though), boiled chicken, shrimp, silversides, canned snails from pet store and hard boiled/scrambled egg (with crushed shell). Please reach out with any questions.
